A New Chapter in Supported Independent Living

Community Living Owen Sound and District is proud to celebrate the completion of our new Supported Independent Living apartment building in downtown Owen Sound.

Opening in November 2026, this purpose built building represents another important step in our mission to create opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to live meaningful lives as valued members of their community.

The building includes ten private apartments that will become home to individuals currently receiving Supported Independent Living services through Community Living Owen Sound and District.

More Than a New Building

Every person deserves a home where they can build confidence, develop new skills, and make choices about how they live.

Supported Independent Living makes this possible by combining independent apartment living with individualized supports based on each person’s goals and needs.

For some people, this represents the next natural step in their journey toward greater independence.

Our Assessment Process

The process of selecting future residents has now begun. The final date for submitting applications is Friday, September 4^th. DEADLINE has been extended to September 11th. 

The apartments have been developed to expand Supported Independent Living opportunities for people currently supported by Community Living Owen Sound and District. Eligibility will depend on each individual’s current services, available supports and circumstances.

Support teams will work alongside eligible individuals through a person-centred planning process to determine readiness for apartment living and how each person’s goals and support needs align with the living model offered within the building.

Applying does not guarantee placement. Every application will be carefully reviewed to ensure the best possible match between each person and their future home.
