General Update:
In the past few days there have been unprecedented changes related to Covid-19 pandemic. Community Living Owen Sound & District has been monitoring the situation and we are following recommendations from the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health and the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit.
The health and well-being of the people we support and our staff are our top priority and we are taking steps to minimize the risk. Therefore, there have been several updates to our services. Please see below for a list of these changes. We will continue to monitor the situation and will continue to communicate with you as any updated information becomes available.
Suspension of 2nd Ave Programs:
Effective Wednesday March 18, 2020, Community Living Owen Sound & District will be suspending the 2nd Ave Program until April 6th at the earliest. This includes the suspension of all activities associated both with 2nd Ave E. Support Centre in Owen Sound and at the Port Elgin office. We understand that this is very disruptive to the lives of the people who are involved in the 2nd Ave activities; however in this time, it is necessary to limit exposure for our community.
Support Pool Update:
We have implemented a few risk-mitigation measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on top of the directives from Public Health that apply to the general population. Effective immediately, until further notice, the following measures will be in effect for support pool.
- Travel will be limited to the local area. Staff will not support people to travel outside of Grey-Bruce.
- All Support Pool staff will continue to visit and support people in the community using standard universal precautions. With cancellation of many activities and services, this will mean changes to some supports.
