Full Time Support Worker
Program: Intensive Supports
Status: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $25.02
Location: Phoenix House
Hours of Work: 12hr shifts; up to 84 hours bi-weekly; every other weekend.

As a Support Worker with Community Living Owen Sound and District, you will be supporting people within their home to live their best lives. The Support Worker will support people with all aspects of daily living and explore opportunities in the Community so they can be as active as they choose. The support worker will work with the people they support to encourage them to live independent lives where they are able to complete daily tasks and responsibilities independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
âŠWork each day towards supporting people based on the mission, vision and values of Community Living Owen Sound and District to live their best lives.
âŠEstablishing respectful relationships with people, recognizing their rights as citizens; promoting their dignity and well-being.
âŠAssist people to develop informed decision- making skills and exercising of choices.
âŠSupport each person as indicated by the person in their Individual Support Plan, Positive Behaviour Support Plan and any other protocols developed by the person supported.
âŠCarry out established supports required for the health, safety and rights for the protection andpromotion of each person.
âŠProvide support in a personâs home; preparing nutritional meals, administering medication, assistingwith personal care and other areas as needed or requested.
âŠAccurately complete any required documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
âŠCompletion of a Developmental Services Worker Program/Social Services Worker Program/PersonalSupport Worker Program and/or minimum 1 -year experience working with people with an intellectualdisability.
âŠStrong written, verbal and non-verbal skills.
âŠTeam player with an ability to work independently.
âŠComfortable with web- based technology.
âŠCurrent First Aid/CPR.
âŠValid Driverâs License and use of personal vehicle.
âŠExperience providing support to people with complex needs is a strong asset.
